i had amazing plans for this entry, because, my friends, it's a -big one-.. but i was trying to be really literate and narrative and it just wasn't workin out for me so i gave up. Anyway.
:::takes deep breath and lets -it- sink in for a bit::: just wow. ::shakes head:: i feel like i have to look up a word in the dictionary to describe it... no, i will not make one up like will ferrell/james lipton. and while it -was- sccrumtrulescent, it was many other things. one of those being kick-ass!!! yeeeaaaahhhhh
considering the long drive up and back (which weren't bad b/c we had some great music... ha ha ha) the rain, and DJ LOGIC.. it was a Magical night. ..... so when Dj Logic was "performing" (he was just like a Dj that mixed? all these popular songs- it was boring) we could see through these double doors that were leading off of the stage, i swear we saw john mayer (twice) and james from m5 watching... it was -so- -cool-.
and then after 43 eternities... Maroon 5 came on.. accompanied by this really wierd rap music but it was still pretty cool. MAN ALIVE, they freakin rocked out. They started with Through With You and I didn't even realize it until the song was almost over because i was so mesmerized. If James (guitarist) wasn't my favorite before it, he would be now, because he was very impressive. he played some solos, that aren't on the cd, sometimes prompted by adam's "Jimmy V, Play for me.." and it was awesome.. very hot. Gotta say my favorite of theirs was Sunday Morning. or Harder to Breathe.... don't really know, cuz James was in my direct line of vision, between two people's heads, and at times, i would just space out...but anyway, maroon 5- very awesome.
And Ol' Johnny did it again. Better than last time, even. The guy has more talent in one of his fingers than most of us put together. Putting his cuteness (is that a word?) aside, he's awesome at the guitar, writes great songs, and he can communicate really well. he has the extremely rare ability to say just what everyone else is thinking, and put it right there into a song that will win a grammy, or something just as great. i don't know, i could go on about him fooorrrrever. His band was really good though! Had like a sax and a flute and a dented flute horn, i think he said? twas very loud round me so i could've heard him wrong ( why did i just get an irish accent??) And his two guitarists were also very good. one was cute and the other one rocked! Faves of John's- Bigger than My Body, Daughters,Why Georgia, No Such Thing, This Eric Clapton song he played, Comfortable (which he didn't play at the last concert, so i was very happy about).....
and then....
God decided to give you're Good Friend Molli here a little treat.
When John came back for his encore, he first played comfortable AND THEN WELCOMED HIS VERY GOOD FRIEND JAMES VALENTINE BACK OUT ON THE STAGE TO PLAY WITH HIM!------ DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW SPLENDIFEROUS THAT WAS FOR ME?!?!?!!? They played this remix of This Love, which was cool to hear cuz they're both so great on guitar.... and then they started to play Neon, but then proceeded into what they called the "2nd Annual Jackass Guitar Competition" which, again, sounded great but was also awesome to watch...... It just made me smile.... And ya know, I really hope it was just annual (not john just saying that) because it would make it that much cooler..
And if it was, I know why they picked our concert to do that-
It's because I Love James so much.
I typed wayyyyy too much for one entry but this was little of all that happened last night.
May come back later- got some things on my mind...
